In this episode we find our two main characters in separate predicaments. Jack is still trying to keep his relationship with C.C. a secret from the world. Liz continues to lie to the TGS stars, Tracy and Jenna, to keep them both happy. In the end, the truth must be told.

After learning and hearing all to often that Jenna has won an award for her acting, Tracy decides to not work because he feels he is under appreciated. Liz goes the distance to make Tracy happy by making up an award for him, setting up fake acceptance via satellite, and getting the rest of the TGS staff to play along. When Tracy thanks everyone except Jenna in his speech, she decides to be just like Tracy – difficult. She gets her on entourage, works when she wants – all to give Liz a hard time, just as Tracy does. Liz is now at her wits’ end and comes clean. She tells Jenna the truth, that Jenna has always been just as difficult as Tracy. Liz created a fake fan club, called in to talk shows that Jenna was a guest and acted like fans with interesting questions, and the award she had been carting around in the beginning of the show was made up too. It was a giant cookie. Liz couldn’t lie anymore to Jenna. It was too much.

Jack and C.C. have been keeping their relationship a secret because Jack is the head of NBC, owned by corporate giant General Electric, and C.C. is a democratic congresswoman in the midst of a lawsuit with a GE subsidiary. Jack is also a republican. The sneaking around has put so much stress on C.C. that she seeks advice from Liz. Liz encourages C.C. that true love will make sacrifices for the sake of the relationship. C.C. agrees and puts an end to the lawsuit she is representing against the GE subsidiary by negotiating a settlement. Jack doesn’t see that as good news and believes they must continue the underground-love until he gets the promotion he has always wanted. C.C.’s disgust with Jack makes him realize what he must do. Jack confesses in front of all his peers at the NBC executive lunchroom that he is in love with C.C. Their relationship is accepted and spurns a chain of sudden proclamations of truth from his peers. No more secret love for Jack and C.C.
