The Simpsons and the Van Houtens are enjoying a picnic. Kirk announces that he and Louann have a major announcement – and no, it’s not that they are brother and sister. They are getting remarried.

Homer is thinking about wearing his rules of beer drinking tie to the ceremony. The rules are the cornerstones of the Brewish faith, but Marge suggests Homer wear a tie that goes with her eyes. Homer can’t remember what color her eyes are and Marge vows to hide her eyes from Homer until he remembers.

Reverend Lovejoy remarries the Van Houtens and they are off on their second honeymoon aboard a cruise ship. Milhouse is staying with the Simpsons while they are gone – if he can endure the pineapples in Marge’s potato salad and Homer’s bedtime stories that include several commercials for the Container Store.

Aboard the ship, Kirk is trying to carry Louann across the threshold, but ends up carrying himself and Louann right off the side of the ship and it’s Open Water time for the remarried couple.

Milhouse is enjoying his stay with the Simpsons and says he wishes his parents would never come home. Moments later, officials from the cruise line show up to tell Milhouse his parents have been lost at sea. The promise to look for them, but they have to search all the oceans, since they are all kind of connected.

Milhouse is holding out hope, when the cruise line official shows up at the back window to let him know that they’ve had to call off the search. He spirals into a dark depression until Maggie makes him realize that he’s on his own now and must learn to fend for himself.

Homer thinks he can find out Marge’s eye color if he looks at their wedding album, but it’s got a lock on it and the combination is their anniversary, which he can’t remember either.

At school Milhouse impresses everyone with his new trouble loner persona. 73 percent of the students at the school are mad about Milhouse, while only 27 percent remain batty for Bart according to the Daily Fourth Grader and Bart realized he must do something to become the cool kid at school once again. He remembers that Milhouse has an uncle in California and calls him to come and help out. Bart thinks having some family around will make Milhouse happy and he won’t be such a sullen rebel at school.

Norbert Van Houten shows up at the airport and he’s a cool Indiana Jones-type which just impresses everyone even more.

Homer is reminded by Grandpa Simpson that he once wrote a song about Marge that contained all the information he knew about her. Homer struggles, but eventually remembers the lyrics to the song and that Marge has hazel eyes. Marge hears him singing the song and forgives him for not remembering her eye color.

Norbert and Milhouse are going to set off on a journey around the world in a hot air balloon, but Bart doesn’t want them to go because he loves Milhouse. Bart grabs the ropes just as the balloon is about to depart.

The Van Houtens, on a desert island, have built a hang glider and just as they leap off the tallest cliff on the island, the hot air balloon containing Bart, Milhouse and Norbert Van Houten crashes into them. Uncle Norbert radios for help and he and Kirk pass the time while they way by fighting over which side of the family is best the Dutch or the Danish.

3 stars out of 5 stars.
