In a show known for shocks and surprises, two disturbing scenes mark this episode, beginning with Kate’s bout with diarrhea while in a hot tub with Sean. Seems the compulsive eating has nor stopped after the gastric bypass, and she has been using laxatives to make sure no added pounds will read on camera. Why does he tell Christian when these things happen? The man needs to expand his social circle.

After having lunch with Julia and Olivia, Liz confides in Christian that she thinks Julia’s newfound lesbianism is just a phase. (OK, so both of them need to expand their circles.) With Sean involved with Kate, Christian sees this as his opportunity to reunite with Julia and win her back. They do end up in bed together by the end of the episode, but Julia’s reaction is that sleeping with him makes it easier to get him out of her system.
Olivia’s daughter Eden appears in Sean’s office, although she conceals her identity at first. A prep school student, she needs her hymen reconstructed after a horse riding accident. This leads to her explaining to Sean her misguided, if not twisted, version of virginity. Sean initially turns her down, but is persuaded to do the surgery. But the relationship between Eden and Annie is potentially toxic, as Annie’s new big sister is pushing her toward anorexia at the very least.
Matt arrives on Sean and Christian’s doorstep with baby Jenna, telling them that Kimber has given away the money Sean gave him to the Church of Scientology. He tells them that when he left the church, they ruined his life. Christian immediately gives him money to tide him over, but Sean is reluctant. In a later scene, he relents and writes a check for Matt. Leaving with the baby, he returns to a strung-out Kimber at a motel. Apparently, the money has been going to a dual crack habit.
This is the second disturbing scene. Although we never see the baby after Matt enters the room, it’s established how small the room is, so it’s on the brain how they are smoking and screwing about five to ten feet from the baby. The sex isn’t glamorous, here or in any of the episode’s scenes. It’s ugly, desperate, disconnected and in one scene, unsatisfying. But you have to love a show that is able to show it that way.
OK, so here’s my promo for next week: They’re high-profile doctors living in Los Angeles. They’ve owned speedboats, fast cars and beautiful homes. They’ve had sex with babysitters, porn stars and models in all kinds of positions and combinations. Next week, they live out another great male fantasy:
Sewing Rosie O’Donnell/s mouth shut!
Can’t wait for that one!
