  1. The new drama series IN TREATMENT will be launched with an innovative scheduling strategy when it debuts MONDAY, JAN. 28 on HBO, it was announced today by David Baldwin, executive vice president, program planning, HBO. Debuting new episodes Monday through Friday at the same time (9:30-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), the show captures sessions between a psychotherapist (played by Gabriel Byrne) and his patients, with the same patient returning for another session on the same weekday throughout the series' nine-week run.

"IN TREATMENT is a unique series that requires a unique scheduling strategy," noted Baldwin. "We are maximizing the exposure of this exciting new show in order to offer our subscribers the widest possible choice of viewing options, and the opportunity to stay engaged with the series for its entirety."

The series stars Gabriel Byrne ("Vanity Fair") as Paul, a taciturn but effective psychotherapist who isn't quite the level-headed source of wisdom his patients think he is. IN TREATMENT also stars Josh Charles ("Sports Night") as Jake, Embeth Davidtz ("Junebug") as Amy, Melissa George ("Alias") as Laura, Blair Underwood ("L.A. Law") as Alex, Mia Wasikowska ("Suburban Mayhem") as Sophie, and Dianne Wiest (Oscar(r) winner for "Bullets over Broadway") as Dr. Gina Toll.

Beginning with week two of the series, new episodes will be preceded on the main HBO channel at 9:00 p.m. by the previous week's episode for that day.

Episodes will replay on HBO2 the same day they debut on the main HBO channel, at 11:30 p.m. Like the main HBO channel, HBO2 will feature an hour block of IN TREATMENT beginning on week two of the series, with new episodes preceded at 11:00 p.m. by the previous week's episode for that day.

In addition to debuting episodes Monday through Friday, HBO will also feature the entire week's episodes in sequence on HBO2 Saturday night (10:00 p.m.-12:30 a.m.), and on HBO Sunday night (6:30-9:00 p.m.).

Each week on HBO Signature, episodes of IN TREATMENT will be seen in "real time" - presented on the days and times of the week when Paul sees his patients: Monday at 9:00 a.m. (Laura's session), Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. (Alex's session), Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. (Sophie's session), and Thursday at 6:00 p.m. (Jake and Amy's session), as well as Friday at 7:00 p.m., when Paul sees his own therapist (Dr. Toll). HBO Signature also provides the opportunity to catch up on previous episodes from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Every Monday, HBO On Demand will preview all five of that week's shows, and the entire season will be available on HBO On Demand through April 21.

IN TREATMENT is executive produced by Rodrigo Garcia (whose HBO directing credits include "Big Love" and "Six Feet Under"), Hagai Levi (creator of the hit Israeli series on which the show is based), and Stephen Levinson and Mark Wahlberg (who are also executive producers of HBO's hit series "Entourage").
