Chuck’s old nemesis Bryce Larkin (Matthew Bomer, Traveler) is alive. He won’t talk to anyone and keeps asking for Chuck. It seems everyone is looking for Chuck, because Big Mike is all over the Buy More calling his name. Everyone in the store is in panic-mode because Black Friday is looming.
Chuck is having a moment, remembering his kiss with Sarah from last week. He’s rambling on and on about it to Morgan, but Morgan isn’t paying attention -- he is having a moment of his own with his new girlfriend Anna. Big Mike tells everyone in the Nerd Herd they will be training on Thanksgiving to handle crowd control the next day: Black Friday. Sarah shows up to tell Chuck that Larkin is alive.
Chuck goes in to see Bryce, but Larkin won’t believe it’s really him until Chuck speaks some Klingon like they used to do back in college before Bryce got him expelled. Larkin grabs Chuck and uses him as a human shield to escape the building. While they are escaping, they run into a baddie (Anthony Ruivivar - Traveller) on whom Chuck immediately flashes. The bad guy is part of a CIA conspiracy called Fulcrum and he was the one who was meant to get the shipping container that Bryce was in last week. Larkin knocks Chuck out and takes disappears.
Chuck wants to get “back together” with Sarah and he invites her to Thanksgiving dinner with Ellie and the gang. At the Buy More, Morgan is training the Nerd Herd to handle crowd control. He gives everyone the secret emergency code that will cause the building to be evacuated: Pineapple. Chuck gets a call that dinner is almost ready, it is Thankgiving afterall.
Chuck rushes home and Ellie and Captain Awesome invited Casey to dinner too. Chuck drops the bomb about Morgan inviting his girlfriend and warns Ellie that she might be weird because we all know that Morgan loves Ellie. (Did we all know this? I’ve watched every episode so far and this is the first I’m hearing about it.)
During dinner, Larkin shows up and needs to talk to Sarah, alone. First though, he tells Chuck that Fulcrum is after the Intersect – which is in Chuck’s brain, thanks to Larkin. Sarah sneaks off to talk to Larkin and Chuck spies them making out in his bedroom. He gets mad and sics Casey on Larkin – since Casey was the one who killed him the first time. Larkin runs off though, before Casey can get the drop on him. Morgan makes love to Ellie’s sweet potatoes and Anna freaks out and dumps him.
Larkin ran, but he didn’t run far. He’s hiding in Casey’s apartment where Sarah and Chuck find him. He explains that Fulcrum kept him alive because they thought that he had the Intersect data. They don’t know about Chuck. Larkin wasn’t a rogue agent and Chuck’s flash proves he’s telling the truth. So Bryce Larkin isn’t a rogue agent afterall, but that doesn’t stop Casey from shooting him as soon as he walks into his apartment.
Larkin was wearing a bulletproof vest. The gang plans to turn Bryce back in to the CIA, but they needs someplace public with lots of people around so Chuck can see who shows up to take Larkin in. If he flashes on them, he’ll be able to determine if they are members of Fulcrum, they have agents in all ranks of the CIA. They decide that Black Friday at the Buy More would be the perfect place.
Two CIA agents show up to take Larkin in, and they are ok by Chuck. Larkin and Sarah drive off with the agents. It looks like everything is going to be ok, but there’s still 20 minutes of show left so we know there’s trouble brewing. The Fulcrum bad guy shows up and he’s got agents planted all over the store. They disarm Casey and they try to grab Chuck. They also have a team crashing into the CIA car to grab Sarah and Larkin. Chuck pulls the “Pineapple” alarm and the store is evacuated, giving him and Casey a chance to lock themselves in the backroom where Casey has a bunch of weapons stashed. Morgan carries Anna out of the store and thereby wins her back. Casey calls for backup and Sarah and Larkin take down the team sent to intercept them. They grab the would-be-kidnapper’s van and head back to the Buy More to save Chuck.
There’s a huge gunfight and a bunch of karate ass kicking dished out by Larkin and his old girlfriend Sarah. The bad guy tries to use Chuck as a human shield, but Larkin asks him in Klingon if he’s wearing a bulletproof vest – which he is. So Larkin shoots Chuck and they take down the bad guy. Eventually the backup arrives in the form of an NSA clean up crew dressed as firemen. They round up all the bad guys and convince Big Mike who’s been freaking out on Morgan for ruining the Black Friday sale, that there was a gas leak in the store and they have to clean it up. Morgan looks like a hero for saving all those lives.
Larkin gets debriefed by General Grandma and is assigned to go deep undercover and take down Fulcrum from the inside. He wants Sarah to come with him, but she’s assigned to protect Chuck now. Sarah hasn’t made up her mind about who to be with. She’s tempted to go with Larkin. As the show ends, Larkin is calling her on her landline while Chuck is calling her on her iPhone. She’s dramatically trying to decide which phone to answer – as if she’d really go with Larkin anyway. That would mean she’d be leaving one of the few hit shows this season and I don’t think that’s going to happen, but hey who would have thought Jorga Fox would walk away from the number one show on television CSI?
