Gracen is driving the Odd Quad this time and his radio must be broken, because they are singing along with Styx Lady on Aubrey’s cellphone. Someone from the DMV breaks in on the song and they demand to be placed back on hold so they can finish their song.

Now Aubrey is driving and Dougie tells the guys he is going to propose to his wife that night. They want to know how you can propose when she’s already his wife. He’s already married, but he wants to renew his wedding vows. They make fun of him and he flashes back to his disastrous beach wedding which was ruined by a rotting beached whale and his wife vomiting from the smell. Laird isn’t saying much, but when he does speak it’s not what they were expecting. He supports Dougie and he thinks people should celebrate their love more.

At the office, Gracen spies Laird dancing around his office. Laird is happy because it’s been a year since his wife left him and he’s seeing someone and it’s something special. Dougie is happy too, because when Aubrey drives up he’s dancing on his porch and is excited to tell Aubrey that his wife said yes to his proposal. The gang’s invited to the wedding on Saturday. Laird is late and Gracen says it’s because he’s seeing someone. He tries to take some credit, but Laird jogs up to the car and behind him we see his ex-wife (and real life girlfriend Rebecca Romijn, Ugly Betty) Joannifer (sic) in her robe drinking a cocktail (at this hour?) The sky clouds over and lightning strikes as the guys in unison all speak her name.

The guys want to know what happened and why Laird is back with his ex. They say she’s crazy and Laird says she’s changed. She runs up and immediately starts flirting with Aubrey really going after Dougie when she gets to Gracen in the line-up she just says hey. Laird gives her a big kiss and Marmaduke shows up to check the mail. Joannifer even comes onto him and he almost knocks a tree over trying to act nonchalant. Joannifer has given Laird a dog (ironically it’s a great dane) and it chases Marmaduke down the street. Dr. Laird and Joannifer give chase leaving Aubrey, Dougie and Gracen to talk about how she only shows up long enough to charm everyone hook Laird again, go off her meds and then leave, leaving them to pick up the pieces.

Leila and Gracen are having dinner and Joannifer and Laird show up. Joannifer wants to reassure them that it’s for real this time and she’s not back just to break Laird’s heart and make love to other men on the broken pieces – again.

Leila is talking to Cindy about the wedding and Cindy is looking for a back yard to hold the reception in. Leila offers their backyard and Marmaduke announces that he will be videotaping the ceremony.

The carpool is waiting for Laird and Gracen knocks on his door. He shows up naked and says he’s working from home today. Gracen assures him that he can’t work from home since he’s a dentist so Laird asks Gracen to handle all his patients. Joannifer shows up in the car and announces that she’s moving back in with Laird – which sets off the car alarm.

With the boys off at work Joannifer takes time to get to know the new neighbors. She shows up at Cindy’s with a giant measuring cup looking for a cup of vodka. Joannifer is talking about how she loves a man in uniform and that she hooked up with a crossing guard. Joannifer tells Cindy she’s going to be her new best friend and there is nothing she can do about it. Cindy shows her the wedding dress and Joannifer says she’s not into women anymore but if she were, she’d be all over her. Dougie comes home to the news that Joannifer is now invited to the wedding.

It’s Dougie’s bachelor party and Aubrey is excited to be outside the house at night. They Odd Quad are playing poker and they try to talk Dr. Laird out of being with Joannifer. They bring up all her past transgressions and Laird tells the gang that they’ve worked through all the junk in their past. Joannifer shows up with pizza and starts dancing with Aubrey. She drags Dougie on the dance floor and the threesome on the dancefloor causes Laird to comment that it loks like Joanifer is having fun with his friends. She flips and thinks he’s accusing her of getting it on with his friends right in front of him, but that’s not it. So it must be the fact that she made out with the pizza guy for free pizza. Laird is just a jealous and boring jerk. The party is over.

Over at Gracen’s house they can hear Joannifer and Laird fighting. Laird doesn’t want her to leave and Gracen heads over to help out his friend.

Marmaduke is filming at the wedding but he’s doing more of a documentary before he knocks over the table with all the gifts – twice. Leila asks how Laird is doing and Gracen assures the gang that he’s fine and that he’s getting over Joannifer, but Laird arrives at the wedding arm in arm with you-know-who. Cindy is the most angry since she showed up wearing the exact same dress. Gracen slaps Laird around – six times and tells him to lose the girl the crowd agrees and Joannifer attacks. She lays down an ultimatum Laird must choose her or his friends.

Cindy thinks this ceremony is worse than the whale. Dougie tells her he doesn’t need a ceremony and they renew their vows to each other from the heart impromptu style. Joannifer thinks its corny, but Laird tells her that their love is the real thing. He apologizes to everyone and agrees to renew his divorce vows with Joannifer at the ceremony. The priest pronounces them re-divorced and they may now kiss other people.

Over the closing credits we see footage of Marmaduke’s documentary. Some Hollywood bigwig is watching the movie and proclaims it to be 15 hours too long, but genius.

    5 out of 5 stars.
