Following Fiske’s suicide, Patty closes the office and heads out to the beach house. She swears Ellen to secrecy about Fiske’s reasons, but of course, Ellen cannot keep the secret from David. After showing him the incriminating pictures, he holds her responsible and, as we’ve seen before, asks her to choose between him and the job. She takes off the engagement ring and leaves the apartment. As she leaves, Katie enters the apartment and gives David the videotape of Greg. He watches it and calls Ellen, who does not pick up her cell phone. He tells her he left the tape in “our secret place”.
Ellen was at Patty’s at the time. After Patty leaves her in charge of the apartment, her path crosses briefly with Patty’s son Michael, who asks Ellen not to tell his mother he was there.
Frobisher’s bearded henchman appears at David’s door just after Lila runs off and leaves it open. They rough up David and toss him into the bathtub as they look for the tape. When they don’t find it, they come looking for it at Patty’s apartment, where the fight with Ellen takes place.
Chills up my spine during the reunion between Ellen and Patty, as Patty returns to bail Ellen out of jail. Ellen agrees to turn over the tape, as long as Patty takes her case and gets her freed. But a phone call from Hollis puts two strangers on Ellen’s trail.
Forgive me for stating the obvious, but DO NOT miss next week!
Damages airs Tuesdays at 10 PM on FX and repeats immediately and during the week
FX will air a marathon of the season this Saturday, beginning at 8 AM.
