"Damages" Recap & Review - "Blame the Victim"

Damages
“Blame the Victim”

Original Air Date: September 11, 2007

All in all, if I was not already a fan, this would not be an episode that hooked me. Capable, interesting, distinctive, and still a cut above almost anything out there, but no new revelations. Being stuck in a holding pattern is still frustrating, even when you’re on a nice airplane

Present:
Ellen is arraigned as Hollis continues to find Patty.

Past:
Ellen and David broke up after he asked her to choose between him and Patty. There were a couple times where I almost expected to see her clock him with the bookend, but in the end, all she did was take off the ring and left it on the sideboard. She left, and David answered a knock on the door. The person at the door was never shown.

Tom and Ellen meet with a man from the Securities and Exchange Commission, who was deposed in the Frobisher case but proved a dead end. As they meet him, we realize it’s the same man Gregory Malina met in Florida.

Ellen’s parents seek her help after accidentally hitting a crossing guard. They do not take her advice, and things go from bad to worse. The results are mentioned during the arraignment.

Frobisher and Patty both squeeze his contact in the pool of plaintiffs, who is getting desperate because of the money crunch. Patty uses Greg’s disappearance as the deciding factor to sway him to her side.

Shining moment: The wonderful Hewes family breakfast: Michael cooks for himself, and no one says a word to each other. Somehow they are all proud of it.

Damages airs Tuesdays at 10 PM on FX and repeats immediately and during the week.
