Two Cents & Five Questions With...

... Nate, Sweet Diss and the Comebacks - Musicians

Every Thursday, TheTwoCents will be posting Two Cents & Five Questions with people from within the world of "The Office" leading up to the Season 4 premiere! This week we start with a musican and HUGE Office fan!

If you're a big Office fan yourself, you have no doubt seen that Fandomicity video on YouTube or MySpace made by someone who goes by the name of Seat18b.

One of the biggest moments to come out of that video is a section by Nate, singer for Sweet Diss, performing their tune "Pam Pong". If you haven't seen the video, you can check it out HERE!

TheTwoCents tracked down Nate and asked him to lend his TwoCents & Five Answers about his music, The Office and more!

TwoCents: Tell the readers of TheTwoCents.com a little about yourself and your band.
Nate (Sweed Diss): My name is Nate and I have a power-pop band called Sweet Diss and the Comebacks. Some people have said we sound like Green Day and the Beach Boys put together, and I guess that fits. I play guitar (and piano) and sing, Lori plays drums, Nick plays bass, and Bryan plays lead guitar.

TC: Tell us about your experience in the Fandomicity video that MySpace fans put together.
NSD: That was an amazing experience! I saw a post Seat18b put up on OfficeTally (which I check religiously) one day about how she was making the documentary, and I thought a song I wrote called Pam Pong might be a fun addition to the soundtrack. When she wrote me back, she suggested I make a video for it too, so that's how that happened. It was tons of fun and I love the way the whole documentary turned out. She did an amazing job on it, and the other Dunderheads were great!

TC: What was the driving force behind your song "Pam Pong"?
NSD: Definitely the Jim and Pam "romance". More specifically, I got the idea for the song when I was watching "The Client" on my Season 2 DVD. Most of the story in the song comes from that episode, with little bits and references thrown in from other episodes.

TC: The Office fans can't stop listening to Pam Pong, have you heard from any of the cast about it?
NSD: I haven't heard anything from any cast or crew of the show, but the Office fans are just as good! And they've been amazing!

TC: Have you thought about any follow up songs to keep the Office Fans wanting more?
NSD: Seat18b and I may or may not be working on a top secret collaboration for a new fanvid with original music in the very near future...

Two Cents Bonus Question:
If someone were to climb off a desert island and only have time to watch five movies to learn what American cinema is all about, what five movies would you show them?
NSD: I would probably show them Cast Away five times. The first time so they could relate to being on a desert island, and the other four times just cause I love Tom Hanks.

You can check out Nate and company on Sweet Diss' MySpace page. Leave them a message and let them know you read about them on TheTwoCents!!

HUGE thanks to Nate and all of Sweet Diss for the TwoCents about Pam Pong and more. Be sure to check back next week to catch another interview with someone within in the World of The Office!

  1. Thanks for posting such a great interview! Sweet Diss and the Comebacks is such an amazing band and it's just a bonus that they watch and love "The Office" too. I definitely have a feeling them, and especially Nate, are going to be big someday. Musical genius and a good sense of humor seem to go hand in hand. ;)

P.S. What could possibly be the secret project? Whatever it is, I bet it's gonna be FANTASTIC.
