Hootie on Tour to Help out Hometowns Everywhere

Hootie and the Blowfish are gearing up to the hit the road this summer, and it's not all about music. In conjunction with the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation, the band's Homegrown Concert Series is spearheading a nationwide effort to collect school supplies for economically disadvantaged schools in each community it visits and will launch the 14-City Homegrown tour on July 3rd, 2007 in Lewiston, NY. To date, the band and their loyal fans have helped fill 21 busloads, totally around $100,000 worth of much needed school supplies for children.

The Hootie & The Blowfish Homegrown Concert series, founded in 2003, was created to benefit children's education. To help local teachers and schools in this effort, Hootie & The Blowfish ask their fans to bring a school supply item with them to the Homegrown concert. All the school supplies that are collected that evening will be delivered to the local schools in the community in the most need.

This year Hootie & the Blowfish kick off in Lewiston, NY and take the band through Atlanta, Groton, CT, the DC area, Glendale, AZ, Highland Park, IL, Charleston, SC, Indianapolis, IN, and Detroit. For more information on the Homegrown concert series visit Hootie.com.
