First Look at High School Musical 2!!

Disney Channels around the world will present the premiere of a music video for a “High School Musical 2” song, beginning SATURDAY, JUNE 9 (7:55 p.m., ET/PT). The music video of the movie’s opening anthem, “What Time Is It,” showcases the exciting world-class choreography, summer pool party fun at the country club and Sharpay’s pink golf cart, among other scenes from the highly-anticipated sequel to the Disney Channel Original Movie that’s become a global sensation. “High School Musical 2” premieres Friday, August 17 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The song debuted two weeks ago on Radio Disney.

“This song from our opening number sets up the story for ‘High School Musical 2,’ and the music video provides the first glimpse of footage from the sequel, so our viewers in regions around the world will certainly know what time it is -- time to countdown to HSM2,” said Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, Disney Channel Worldwide.

This jubilant anthem comes at the top of the movie as the last minutes of the school year clock finally tick down to summertime. Not even Mrs. Darbus can tame Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay, Chad, Taylor and the rest of the East High Wildcats as they break into song, jump out of their seats and pour out of the classroom, “roller coasting” down the hallway and through the school in an exhilarating song and dance that exclaims the pressure’s off and the party’s about to start. And to remind viewers of where the popular storytelling of the first movie left off, the horns and drum beat evoke a bit of “We’re All in this Together.”
