NBC held their UpFront presentation this morning at New York's Radio City Music Hall.
NBC Entertainment President, Kevin Reilly, along with some others presented what's new for 07-08 and what is coming back!
Here are some highlights:
"The Office" was ordered for 30 half-hour episodes including 5 hour episodes. They are also moving it into the crosshairs of "CSI" and "Grey's Anatomy" at 9pm on Thursdays.
As I said, "Friday Night Lights" is definitly coming back and it's moving to Friday nights. "Medium" back as are the "Law & Order" shows I talked about in a post earlier today.
"Heroes" is back with 30 episodes and a 30 minute "spin off" has been added called "Heroes: Origins". According to the announcement today, "Origins" is "an innovative new spin-off that each week will introduce a new character -- one of whom will be chosen by viewers through the "Heroes" website on NBC.com to become a cast regular the following season."
"My Name is Earl" is back for 25 episodes and "30 Rock" returns, and moves to 8:30 on Thursdays between "Earl" and "The Office".
NBC's new shows are varied.
"Journeyman" is a drama about a San Fran newspaper reporter who travels through time altering people's lives. (Quantum Leap anyone?)
"Chuck" is a comedic spy thriller about a computer geek who has spy secrets mysteriously implanted in his mind and then finds himself employed as a government spy.
"Bionic Woman" is a remake of the 70s show. "Life" is about a cop who comes out of prison for a crime he didn't commit.
"Lipstick Jungle" is a new show based on the book written by "Sex and the City" author, Candace Bushnell and stars Brooke Shields, Kim Raven ("24") and Lindsay Price ("Beverly Hills 90210").
"The IT Crowd" is a comedy based on a British show of the same name about I.T. guys are a company. It stars Joel McHale who is the host of "The Soup" that we all love.
Jerry Seinfeld is in a new animated movie called "Bee Movie" and NBC is going to run behind the scenes 'minisodes' about the making of the film.
Fridays will be "Game Night" where NBC will rotate game shows such as "1 vs 100" and a new show called "Singing Bee" where contestants will have to sing lyrics to songs, even after the band stops!
