Hey gang! Daylight Saving Time is three weeks earlier this year! It's THIS SUNDAY! Not a big deal for most people, but our PCs won't do the change automatically for us this year because of the change!
Why did this happen? On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to resume the 2005 Daylight Saving Time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete.
If you want your PC to be ready, Microsoft has set up a page with how-to's and patches/fixes. I just thought I would share.
Do you like the idea of a long DST in the year? Extra weeks in March and through October into November!

I ALWAYS love to move my clock ahead and lose an hour.
ReplyDeleteIt makes the weekend that much better!!!
I'm selfish, I could care less about the 'benefits', I just want my hour back!
Keith, can you develop a machine that could do this?
;)

tell svenbobtruk that he'll get his hour back in November. For once, I actually agree with something congress did.
