In the spirit of honesty, I have a confession to make: I am head-over- heels mad in love with Nathan Fillion. Have been for years. You know that list Ross had on Friends… the one he laminated? Well, there are only two people on my List, and Nathan Fillion is Numero Uno (the second, if you care, is Helo from Battlestar Galactica, but that’s a whole other post). That said, I was more than happy to take on the reviewing job of Castle, ABCs new quirky drama starring my boy, even if it had echoes of Murder She Wrote (because, really, what would have made Murder She Wrote better? A hot guy, that’s what!). Let’s see if the show is more Ariel than Cabot Cove.

ABC Announces 5 New Shows Picked Up

ABC is adding five new series to its slate of programming for the 2008-09 season, it was announced today by Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment. The series include three new dramas, “Castle,” “Cupid” and “The Unusuals,” and two new comedies, “Better Off Ted” and “Single with Parents.”

“It was worth taking the time to go through the pilot process to really do it right,” said McPherson. “We’re excited about these series and feel they’re perfect additions to our dominant core slate of shows. These are the initial pick-ups, but there are a number of other pilots we feel will also get the go ahead in some form moving forward.”
