As things wind down and get closer to the finale, our pack thins out and we’re left only with the best. That means that the competition gets fiercer and more intense, and it’s up to the contestants to push forward or fall behind. So how did they do this week?
ReplyDeleteMelissa Rycroft was out this week due to complications with a bruised rib, so they had to treat her performance like they did Steve-O’s when he was out. Unfortunately, the last taped dance of her and Tony’s Jive was from their practice room and she had on a pair of jeans. It was fairly stripped down, and didn’t have many of the performance aspects that really bring these dances to life. The judges gave her a 21. I’m hoping that enough people will call in that it will save my personal favorite.
Lil’ Kim and Derek
Dancing: the Paso Doble
Judgment: A combined score of 28. Lil Kim and Derek were aggressive and intense, and managed to by really great. At first, I was unsure about Kim, but she’s really moved up.
Gilles Marini and Cheryl
Dancing: the Jive
Judgment: A combined 27. I can’t help feel like maybe Gilles has lost his luster a little bit. At one point, 27s were enough to put you the lead, but not anymore. He needs to get off his plateau.
Shawn Johnson and Mark
Dancing: the Samba
Judgment: A combined 27. The judges said it lacked proper hip action, and I agree. It was beautiful, and there were moments of greatness, but I was a little uncomfortable.
Chuck Wicks and Julianne
Dancing: the Cha Cha Cha
Judgment: a combined score of 26. They were trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice, but it ended up being okay and acceptable. The judges cited technical things, like improper arm technique and chin. I had fun, however.
Ty Murray and Chelsie
Dancing: the Salsa
Judgment: A score of 24. This cowboy got a tan and loosened up a little bit, which was a great change for him and really seemed to help him. The judges were mixed; Carrie Ann loved it, Bruno was in the middle, and Len was about ready to send him home.
So, there’s the roundup of this week’s dances. What did you think? Is it time for the cowboy to hit the trail? Will viewer votes help save the injured and bruised Melissa? Share your TwoCents with us.
